Young enough to not be afraid to go into a comic book store once a month, and old enough to appreciate the feeling of ” holy crap, I can’t believe they’re selling something like this in a comic book store. Experiencing it in serialized form was amazing. It was like a virus that swept through the art, soc, psych, phil, and eng; claiming its victims from the hardiest and elite.
Anyway, I agree with your assessment. At the time as a young intellectual, just reading it made you feel like you belonged to a secret society and it was coded and hidden in such a way that it only attracted attention from those who could appreciate the beauty of its design.
