I think it’s hard to put a lot of effort into solving a 97/98-character cipher and then have people tell you that you are wrong or that your methods are. Since none of us have ever solved it (yet), I don’t know that anyone can say with certainty if a method of attack is incorrect. Some are more likely than others and we all have to know when to change tactics. Of the few things we are certain of in K4, Berlin is definitely the strongest. I can say without any doubt or hesitation that if a decrypt or partially solved plaintext does not contain the word BERLIN then it is unfortunately incorrect. To many, this means twisting their current efforts to desparatly mangle their text to reveal the word. To others, it means this effort didn’t work but the next one might and they go back to the drawing board.
