I’m anti-rotor for this one. Firstly, we don’t have enough intercepts, we didn’t have known plaintext breaks before Berlin, 97 letters isn’t enough to analyze,etc. etc. etc. If we can trust James Sanborn and Edward Scheidt then by their comments I also believe it’s a “paper-and-pencil” system. I could be tragically wrong on all counts.
I do think it’s good for some folks to be approaching it from a Purple/Hebern/Enigma angle. Good luck!
